I am so glad to have had the opportunity to be so involved in the North West Net Zero Youth Conference on Saturday through my position in the Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership Engagement Board!
The 4 young people and I who formed the steering group have been planning for this for months now, finally leading to a very successful day of discussing transport, green energy, green jobs & skills and green spaces with nearly 100 attendees.
The enthusiasm, even at the very end, from the young people was uplifting, and they really brought some thought-provoking ideas to the table. I am also impressed with the amount of attendees who brought up social aspects of green energy, making a fairer and greener future!
Now I look forward to the report that’s to be created from the days discussions and then presented at a later event this month to NW leaders, councillors, and mayors – truly conveying young people’s voice.
Many thanks to Youth Focus North West (YFNW) for facilitating the event at The University of Salford! And thank you to Salford Uni’s own Andrew who was my expert help for the day!
